A new malware called AryStinger is infecting legacy home routers to build a distributed reconnaissance and proxy network. According to QiAnXin's XLab, at least 4,300 routers have been infected, and this number is still on the rise. AryStinger serves a pre-attack stage and is distinct from typical DDoS botnets that these devices usually become part of.
