CERN은 가속기 제어용 산업용 컴퓨터와 임베디드 시스템을 CentOS에서 Debian으로 전환할 예정입니다. 이 프로젝트는 2026년 말까지 2,200대 이상의 시스템에 Debian 13을 배포하는 것을 목표로 하고 있습니다. CERN은 과거에 RHEL 계열의 Scientific Linux를 사용하다가 2015년에 CentOS로 이전한 후, 다시 Debian으로 전환하고 있습니다.

CERN plans to transition its industrial computers and embedded systems from CentOS to Debian. The project aims to deploy Debian 13 on over 2,200 systems by the end of 2026. Previously, CERN used Scientific Linux for about a decade before moving to CentOS in 2015 and is now shifting back to Debian.
