Malicious Apache modules are hijacking Brazilian government site traffic to redirect users to gambling pages.
A Chinese-speaking cybercrime group known as Gambling Goblin is reportedly installing malicious Apache modules on compromised web servers belonging to Brazilian government and educational institutions. These modules are used to redirect visitors to pages promoting online gambling and sports betting controlled by the attackers. Check Point Research has been tracking this campaign since mid-2025.
