Researchers from the University of Toronto have disclosed a Rowhammer attack known as GPUThor that affects NVIDIA workstation GPUs. This attack bypasses the error correction codes (ECC) which NVIDIA recommends as a mitigation against GPU Rowhammer. It enables both denial-of-service (DoS) and privilege escalation to root shell, highlighting significant security vulnerabilities.
