WhatsApp is currently testing a Scam Alert feature in limited beta that uses on-device machine learning to detect potential scam messages from non-contacts. Meta's architecture keeps message content on the device while employing confidential computing, Oblivious HTTP, differential privacy, and model transparency to both measure performance and ensure model delivery is secure.
