Anthropic has warned that cybercriminals and state-sponsored hackers are utilizing its Claude models for cyber attacks, weapons design, propaganda, and mass surveillance. The threat actors, identified as Generative Threat Groups (GTGs) by the AI company, include state-sponsored groups, financially motivated criminals, and commercial hackers. Their activities have been reported between December 2025 and August 2026.
