The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities has suspended the fill-and-flush and closed-loop cooling wastewater acceptance from Meta's Cheyenne campus due to the detection of Cupriavidus gilardii in the discharged water. This metal-resistant bacteria was traced back to two water recycling facilities. Such contamination poses significant implications for data center operations.
