CSAIL에서 개발한 새로운 지퍼 형태의 패스너는 텐트를 치거나 부러진 뼈의 캐스트를 조정하는 것을 쉽게 해줄 수 있다. 이 연구는 MIT 교수인 스테파니 뮬러의 주도로 진행되었으며, 과거의 세 면으로 이루어진 지퍼 프로토타입에서 영감을 받았다. 이러한 설계는 사용자에게 더 많은 편리함을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

CSAIL’s research team develops a new type of fastener for easy use in various applications.

A new fastener designed at CSAIL offers the ease of use similar to zipping a coat, facilitating tasks like pitching a tent or adjusting a cast for a broken bone. Led by associate professor Stefanie Mueller, the research was inspired by an abandoned prototype of a three-sided zipper patented by MIT professor William Freeman. This innovative design is expected to provide greater convenience for users in various situations.
