AWS has launched Lambda MicroVMs, a new serverless compute primitive that runs each user session or AI agent in its own Firecracker virtual machine. This feature provides hardware-level isolation, snapshot-based rapid launch, and state preservation for up to eight hours. According to Reddit community analysis, the minimum setup cost is approximately $3.03 per day, which is about 9 times the Fargate spot pricing.
