A recent study suggests that memory errors in aging may not just involve losing information, but rather incorrectly stitching together fragments of different experiences as a single memory. In this study, patterns of hippocampal activity were compared using MRI among 61 adults aged 18 to 74. The findings reveal differences in memory processing between younger and older participants.
