Anthropic and HHMI Janelia have launched a limited research preview of the Model Hardware Standard (MHS) for connecting AI agents to real equipment. This standard aims to unify the control methods and status information of devices from different manufacturers, reducing the burden of creating custom code each time a microscope, robotic arm, or liquid handler is connected.
