Android Car Malware Spreads Through Built-In Updaters for Ad Fraud, Proxy Botnet

안드로이드 차량 시스템을 겨냥한 새로운 악성코드가 발견됐다.

사이버 보안 연구원들이 DoFun이 개발한 안드로이드 기반 차량 헤드 유닛 펌웨어를 감염시키는 악성코드 군을 발견했다. Kaspersky는 이 악성코드가 광고 사기를 위한 다단계 다운로드와 프록시 봇넷 생성을 목표로 하고 있다고 밝혔다. 이 악성코드는 차량 시스템의 내장 업데이트를 통해 확산되고 있다.

A new malware targeting Android car systems has been discovered.

Cybersecurity researchers have identified a new family of malware designed to infect Android-based vehicle head unit firmware developed by DoFun. Kaspersky reported that the malware aims to serve as a multi-stage downloader to facilitate ad fraud and create a proxy botnet. The infection is spread through built-in updaters in the vehicle systems.
