SCMBANKER is using ClickFix lures to target customers of Mexican banks, fintechs, payment processors, and cryptocurrency exchanges. The malware infects victims through fake CAPTCHA verification pages that trick them into executing a malicious command. This activity cluster has been tracked by Elastic Security Labs under the moniker REF6045.
